Hello. My name is Joy Leffers. My students call me Mrs. Joy. I have been teaching for 28 years. Some of my favorite things are: school, spending time with my 2 yorkies (Dixie & De Javu), walking, and learning about whole-food, plant-based cooking.
Position: 5th - 8th Grade Teacher, Head Teacher
Born in Virginia she was then transplanted to Texas where she lived until entering the Air Force in May of 1967. Raised in a non SDA home, she first learned about the Adventist message in 1975. At that time her whole family joined the local SDA church in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1986 God called her to become a teacher. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1989. Following two years of teaching in the public high school in Ardmore, Oklahoma, God opened the door for her to begin teaching in the Adventist educational system. Twenty-seven years later she is still active in education. Mrs. Clark has earned two Masters degrees (Biology in 1996 and Educational Leadership in 2015). She tells her students you are never too old to enjoy learning. Her strongest desire is to see everyone of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren --as well as every student she has ever taught--ready for Jesus' return. She looks forward to the opportunity to serve God at CCA.
